Chapter 3: Disappearances and Promises

Amy was picking roses at a garden located on the back of Serdin Castle. She allowed the thorns puncture her soft palm while she cut the stems, cradling a bundle of  other flowers in her arms carefully.

She carried the well-arranged bouquet into the castle, ignoring the fans that were calling for her outside. She was tired...Sick of popularity...Because the one person that would continuously support her was gone.

Tears escaped her eyes as she laid the bouquet in front of the door to Jin's room.

"I'm so sorry Amy," Arme whispered, walking into the elusive hallways with an expression filled with agony and sympathy.

"You knew this would happen...Didn't you?" Amy asked, "DIDN'T YOU?!"

Arme lowered her head and said, "Yes..."

"Then why didn't you stop him?!" The muse shrieked, "You could at least tell him how to avoid getting killed, right?!"

"Amy, death is tricky. It could come whether you're awake or asleep," The purple-haired mage replied.

"I don't care!" Amy exclaimed, bolting out of the castle as fast as she can, never to return again.

The ball finally darkened, indicating that Amy's memory fragment was already through.

"That didn't answer my question. What happened to Amy?" Elesis asked, weakly. She doubtlessly wanted a reply, and KazeAaze must give it to her.

The queen of darkness laughed irritatingly and replied, "Who knows? My wonderful orcs might have feasted on her flesh by now!"

The redhead shuddered at the thought, "You merciless bastard!"

"Now, now. You wanted to know, didn't you?" KazeAaze smirked, "Let's see who's next, ah...The Royal Guard Master. What a pleasant death he had! Killing him was exciting. He barely even left a mark on me!"

And with those words, the ball drowned the throne room in a dark blue aura.

The forests of Kanavan were a perfect hiding place for all the pitiful humans that had lost their loved ones in the fight against evil. The blue-haired magic knight walked on and on, aiding the injured and...uhm...Flirting with some women.

He's lucky Elesis was too brimmed up with agony at the moment or she'd have impaled his dead body with her sword again and again.

"Ronan!" shouted A little boy about 11 years of age.

"Ren!" Ronan responded with a smile as he moved away from the not-so-eligible ladies he was talking to.

"Ronan! I'm scared...Anmon guards are everywhere!" Ren said nervously, his eyes darting to the monsters, marching in perfect rows from afar.

"There's no reason for a guy to be scared! They won't see us here anyway!" Ronan replied, "Here, try holding my sword..."

Ren reached out for the object but crashed under the weight of the metal. Obviously, he didn't know how to hold it properly....

"Don't worry, I'll teach you how to use it!" Ronan exclaimed, and yes, when it comes to wielding a sword, this knight knows how to keep his words. In a few moments,  Ren was swinging the weapon here and there.

"So, is there anyone you want to protect?" Ronan asked, eagerly. It was the main purpose why he taught Ren how to use the weapon anyway. But before Ren could even reply, a petite yet graceful girl with long brown hair and deep-blue eyes ran into him.

"Ren!!!" she exclaimed in a low, squeaky voice.

"Shi-Shiyuki!" The boy chirped.

"I'm scared Ren!" Shiyuki informed him as she gripped his arm. She was so cute when she behaved like that; Ren was already frozen on the spot.

"So that's the one..." Ronan whispered to himself, putting on a smug smile. But what made him smirk even more was a familiar voice from behind him.

"Shiyuki! You shouldn't be running off like that!" Elesis panted, "Oh...H-Hi Ronan...D-Didn't see you th-there..."

"You're injured Elesis!" Ronan exclaimed after facing her, pointing at the redhead's right arm where blood spread and darkened little by little, indicating that the gash was deep.

"It's nothing Ronan," The redhead grimaced. She immediately became aware of the warmth that enveloped her as the magic knight pulled her close to him and began cleaning the injury.

"Ronan, you didn't have to..." Elesis shied, which only made the blue-haired knight pull her closer until they were merely inches apart.

"I might never get the chance to shield you from harm, Elesis," he muttered, "I'm sorry..."

And with those words, he brushed his lips on Elesis', deepening the kiss by caging her in his arms. Elesis sat there, motionless, enjoying every bit of the moment. It wasn't long before he pinned her on the ground and kissed her again, earning a smile from the redheaded knight as he pulled away.

Hours later, Ronan prepared for his departure to the Ellia continent. His last wish was to have a battle with KazeAaze, even if it means his own death. However the knight master was unwilling to let him have the mission, but her status was too low against the Royal Guard that she'd have to give him the scroll, whether she'd like to or not.

"Ronan...What if you get killed?" Ren asked, handing over a dark-blue cloak as he stood on one of the sandy stalactites of the gorge of oath.

Ronan gleefully took the cloak, his armor clanking with his every move, and replied, "No, I won't...I'll come back and teach you how to protect Shiyuki..."

He wanted to keep that promise, but he knew he might never even get back alive. He decided to conjure up every single memory he had of his loved ones, and with them at the back of his thoughts, it only took seconds for him to cross the area. His figure disappearing in the wind as he left.

The ball became dull again.

"Ronan..." Elesis smiled, "I'll see you soon."

"That leaves two more..." KazeAaze said. Two more and she'll have fun piercing her claws through Elesis, the fiercest person she's ever battled.

The ball brightened up, separating the room in two colors: Purple and Light-blue.
